Tiero threw a hooded cloak over his black school uniform. Nervously looking left and right he slowly pushed the door of House of Hunters. Turning to look back he scanned the corridors and stairs which led to room of fellow sleeping Hunters. A light smile ployed on his face. The lazy ones would be still asleep and those that were early birds would be out in the distance part-taking in survival training. Right now was the perfect time to sneak out.

Tiero peered out the now ajar door as he confirmed that the coast was clear. With a soft creak he fully pushed the door open, stepping out into shadowed dawn of Rus. It was certainly a beaitful place at least in the mornings. As the sun started to strech and send it rays from over the Mountains, a golden and warm effect would lightly caress those who were willing enough to wake up.

The hunter carefully closed the door behind him as he quickly broke out into a run. Trusting the shadows of the early morning he dashed about in between the trees. Stopping brifely at a large elm tree Tiero took a breathe before tackling the hardest obstacle course, the Main Quad. It was in full view of both Houses and if anyone looked out of their windows would see Tiero running across like a mad man.

Tiero quickly reached the other side but felt it had taken, by Susanoo's pants a damn century. The distance from the Scholar House to the Hunter House was about a 100 meters, of which Tiero could clock in about 10 seconds. A rather fast speed for a child but what his reason for making such a travel and in such speed? It was altogether strange that a Hunter should be lingering about the Scholar's side of the Academy.

The answer lay within Tiero's History. Initially Tiero had been enrolled into the Scholar side of the academy, thus instead of the Dragon he had on his right arm band he had the Scholars sigil, something that he swore looked like an owl. Though later he did become a hunter he was still forced to take theory lessons concerning spell casting and soul residue mechanics.

But why on earth did he have to take his lessons within the Scholar House? Tiero turned the knob of the great double doors, similiar in design to that of the Hunters. He quietly slipped through as he already heard foot steps piling into early morning classes. Due to the unpopularity of theory lessons with the Hunters there was teacher who would teach just one student and thus Tiero had to take these lessons with the Scholars.

It would have been a problem if other Hunter students found out, they would somewhat shun him for studying a subject of 'whimps'. Mind you Tiero had nothing against scholars, not even in the remote ideas but it would save him some trouble to hide this knowledge. Tiero walked down the corridors with Scholars that rubbed their eyes and let out stifling yawns.

No sooner had they entered class and taken their favoured seats, a teacher would walk in and start to explain various theories from an Incantum. Students would pull out rolls of parchment and their own incantums and take down notes and draw diagrams whenever they felt it was needed. However Tiero was never interested in such a lesson. He would stretch his left arm out on the desk and let his head use it as a pillow. With a quill in hand he would let his right hand wonder about on his parchment drawing doodle of monsters he had encountered, obviously bored.

Tiero tuned out the teacher and various scribbling sounds as he peered out of the window and onto the stone paved main Quad. Classes of Hunters had come outside as they were led by a senoir running laps around the Quad. Tiero looked as the laps sooned turned into groups of teams who soon get ready to spar and show off their skills as a fighter. Tiero blinked as a sound, no an absence of a sound disturbed him. He turned to face the teacher who had stopped talking and to stare at the bug who dared day dream in her class.

Wordlessly he mouthed out a sorry as he returned his attention to the array of doodle on his parchments. The class resumed its lesson as the teacher once again droned in her melancholy voice that always made Tiero sleepy. But he guessed it could not be helped. He was stuck doing this till he graduated he might as well learn something right?

Tiero rolled the doodles and unrolled the bottom as it revealed a fresh section upon the yellowish brown page to write on. Tiero cupped his chin on the fist of his left hand but this time his right hand took down whisps of what the teacher had to say. He jotted down something on Soul Residue and how the head Master had given it to them. The lesson droned on about 10 minutes before there was a mention about reapers actually being good and the original student body. Tiero stopped writing as it once again seemed useless to him. He dropped his pen and slowly looked about the class.

While the teacher kept plodding through her lecture, one student kept his eyes riveted to her. His posture, perfectly upright and with a sense of being totally alert, gave one the impression of obvious attentiveness. His own parchment was already filled from top to bottom in tiny, cramped writing, with some words being squished together or abbreviated entirely in order to save space. Eventually, the quill was set aside and the uniformed writer, a quintessential Scholar by the name of Akaryu, looked down at his ungodly amount of notes and refrained from rolling his eyes.

The parchment was so heavy with his ink that it didn't even curl into its natural position anymore, but he left it open instead and straightened out the collar of his uniform, then righted his armband. His cold blue eyes scanned over the students around him, and it was then that he noticed a familiar face among the sea of Scholars. The Hunter armband didn't go unnoticed, and he frowned slightly, one of his displeased expressions that rarely made its way onto his face. The teacher announced the work required for the day after the lesson, and the sound of shuffling paper and scratching quills pervaded the otherwise silent room.

Akaryu had already done his assignment, having spoken to the lecturer beforehand on the day's topic and knowing what to prepare- hence the long, filled-up roll of parchment with nothing but endless displays of his encyclopedic knowledge of the arcane arts and the theories surrounding them. He'd always been a Scholar, though he was an exceptional bladesman, especially with an o-katana; the otherwise unwieldy weapon was a delicate and deadly tool in the hands of the "wimpy" Scholar student, and added to the fact that his persona allowed crystalline focus with which to use in using the blade, made him a fierce opponent, indeed. After this class, he had a combat class with the Hunters, though he knew he would never be as fierce as one in sheer physical warfare. At least, not without the skills gifted to him through his Scholar Paths.

He returned his gaze to the Hunter in the class and peered at the doodles covering the other student's parchment. The Hunter in question, Tiero, was familiar to him, though only through reputation. A fearsome and excellent student of the Hunters, he'd heard that the other boy had originally been ordained to be a Scholar, but his skills and spiritual disposition had made way for him to join the other faction of Kabuto Academy. Normally, Akaryu disapproved of Hunters, but the sight of actual notes at the bottom of the parchment- amid the mindless drawings, he reminded himself- seemed to show that Tiero wasn't the typical brute like his brethren. With that in mind, he nodded to him and decided to see what the other student was up to.

"...Hunter." He kept his voice low, almost an inaudible hiss, despite the fact that he sat right next to him- he didn't want to be heard, after all.
"Tiero, isn't it? You know a proctorial exam is coming up next week, don't you?"
He looked around to make sure no one was paying too much attention to him, specifically, and he adjusted his parchment for a moment, gazing over it, then he placed it onto the Hunter's desk. It was ironic, really. The situation had turned out just like it did on the battlefield, combating the Monsters.
"You might find those notes to be a little more helpful than your, ah... Artistic renderings."

If he disliked Hunters so much, why help this one? Well, Akaryu had never been predictable. He tended to do whatever pleased him or was supposed to be the most beneficial for him in some way. That, and he could tolerate Tiero a little more than the other Hunters...

Test?

A scholar sitting adjacent to Tiero's own seat whispered something to him. He couldn't clearly make out what the person was saying what with all the students pushing chairs under their desks and scraping their belongings into bags and satchels. Tiero raised and eyebrow, he was acknowledged amoung his hunter class mates but his name to be known amoung scholars? Was his name seriousl whispered amoung the intellects of this academy?

Tiero looked at the parchment that had been dropped onto his desk. With eye he briefly looked at as he plonked the quill into the inkwell and dileberately took time in rolling up his parchment. Making soft sand paper like sounds as he rolled them up. It was a habit that Tiero had recently developed, in a way an interrogation method. A distraction if you will, the irratating sound would drag the attention of this Scholar.

This innocent method hadn't even caught the attention of both his Hunter and Scholar teachers. Tiero had actually used some brains to gain valuable information for example, there was a chance that Hunters could transcend in power, waepon wise. He would need to research on it. Tiero was still rolling up his parchment when he asked.
proctorial exam ?

His light husky voice was acute and to the point, there was neither emphasis nor degration. His question would have almost invited people to confidence without them even realising. Tiero wasn't much of a talker, though mind you not the shy one, he just didn't speak much. But when he did it was usually to the point though often he would leave them to ponder upon his words.

Tiero studied the scholars face with a light smile before returning his attention to the parchment on his desk. Oh dear he thought. There was a large array of crammed writing and arrows pointing to various bullet points, underlined and circled here and there. It would be useful... after he had lent a copy of arcane ruins from the Scholar library. There were certain spots he could make out and he was sure they would come in handy.

Folding the parchment twice Tiero inserted it into the inner pocket of his cloak. This cloak he hooked on his index and forefinger before flinging it so that it hooked over his shoulders. He stood up from his desk and silently pushed in his chair much like a sloth. A scholar was walking past towards the door when he abruptly bumped into Tiero.
'ahhh'
'watch it hunter!'

Tiero smiled in response and nodded an apology when clearly he was not at fault. Tiero faced the scholar Akaryu as he asked him about breakfast. 'Where is your dining hall? Ours is usually on the east wing just where the sun rises' Kaito turned again as he faced the Scholar who had bumped him, he was just walking out the class room and for a split second there was a forbodding shadow just underneath his eyes. A strange and stifling air erupting from his body as it seemed to cast a shadow upon the whole class room, an aura that didn't belong to hunter nor scholar. However this was a mere split second.

'Explain to me about this test. Tiero had started to make his way to the door he looked to Akaryu who would by his guesses follow. He passed through the corridors of the Scholar house passing many students who just woke up for they did not take early morning classes. He had done well in hooking his cloak over his right as it now covered his arm band. Students oblivious to the fact that there was a hunter amoung them walked past in pajamas to the general direction of the dining hall.

Collecting his quill and ink, Akaryu stood from his desk and bade the teacher goodbye before heading out of the hallway. It seemed the Hunter was still talking to him. Well, he had two choices, then: one, be rude and walk away without answering the other student; two, follow the Hunter and answer his queries. Never one to not obey his manners, Akaryu gestured to some of his Scholar associates that he would be with them later and then turned to approach Tiero. Once he was at the smaller student's side, he nodded.

"Indeed. The proctorial exam regarding the theories on how to properly channel Spirit Residue to activate a spell. Though you needn't really concern yourself with actually learning that. Simple memorization will be fine for you; one can never be both Hunter and Scholar. I should know, I have tried myself."
He eyed the jacket slung over Tiero's arm, then realized he was doing it to cover his armband. He noted this for later and returned his attention to the Hunter's questions.
"Our dining hall is in the West, where the moon rises. Many of my fellow Scholars prefer to put off eating until the last minute, absorbed in their studies. Hence the allowance of late-night meals here. Of course, it's an unobserved rule, being that the Teachers should actually punish it, but leniency on that part leads to higher productivity from our half of the Academy."

He brushed off an invisible speck of dust from his collar and nodded to a group of female scholars as they passed, who grinned and started whispering behind their hands. When he returned his gaze to them, they immediately fell silent, but he didn't bother with saying anything more. They quickly hurried off, and he just slightly rolled his eyes.
"Foolishness."

haha.. yes it is true that a one cannot be both Hunter and scholar but such rule dictates that a Hunter and Scholar may be one.

He walked past countless students in the large corridors as he gradually started to make his way not to the Dining hall but seemingly upstairs. So their dining hall in the West for late night students? Tiero wandered for a moment if they were served food 3 times a day like a normal human would eat for the Hunters themselves had a different eating pattern. 4 times a day did they get fed tons of luxurious food and this was excluding the occasional snacks they were given after intense training.

At about 7:00 am to 7:30 they hunters were served breakfast usually consisting of a wide variety of fruits, warm vegetables, soups, meats such as sausages, bacon, eggs and protein such as toasted bread, some new barely porridge that was eaten with milk and all this was eaten by large mounds. At lunch they would be served at least 20 kinds of sandwiches ranging from egg, bacon, salad, cheese, chicken, beef, pork, potatoe, mince and various other kinds which was once again eaten in the hundreds. Around Dinner time they would have a feast greater than that of breakfast and lunch put together and still after that they would have light snacks at about 10:00 PM.

Tiero in particular was a boy who loved the food served to them but as of now he wasn't hungry. He hadn't had his morning exercise to get him hungry yet but soon enough he would hear that tightening sound from his stomach. Tiero noted as the scholar spoke, a group of girls whispered behind covered hands who seemed to be talking about him. Ha, the one thing about the Hunters was that they were short in female counter parts.

In the rare case that the female Hunter did exist they were rather fierce and were quickly taken by a lucky guy. As for the House of Scholars they seemed to be abundant in their opposite sex. Tiero turned a corner as he stepped on to a flight of steps. As he slowly progressed up he saw multiple array of female scholars some dressed in their pajamas walking down to bathrooms clutching at their toiletries. That was a trait that girls had, always look pretty but that would be for another time.

By now Tiero had climbed the stairs to the very top and final floor. On this floor he walked down the corridor and onto an open window. There was a daring jump and a hand which grabbed a latch, Tiero swung his body over the top and was quickly on the tiled roof of House of scholars. He paced a few as he waited for the Scholar to climb onto the roof, he wondered if the scholar had the guts to come up.

' Care to spar? I train you to be the best close combatant in the house of Scholars and you teach me to be the smartest in the House of Hunters.' Tiero threw away his brown hooded cloak as his arm band was clearly visible. He removed the ugly black jacket and left in on the roof. The roof was about 20m wide and 800m long. in the middle of the width the roof was pointed and created a slippery gradient.

Doping [open:Hunter, scholar, maiden] Empty Re: Doping [open:Hunter, scholar, maiden]

Akaryu didn't bother with debating semantics. He'd known most of the elementary things by the time he'd spent less than a year in the Academy. He'd arrived late, and was already on par with many of the others that had been raised and trained their whole lives. He thought he'd done well for himself. Then again, he knew he could always be better, and he constantly strove to that end. Working was his weakness; he hated idleness. And ironically enough, any sort of regiment that could increase his skills, he was likely to take.

Seeing the Hunter just clamber out of the window, he simply grabbed the ledge and flipped himself upwards to grab the siding, then yanked himself up onto the roof with one mighty pull of his arms. He brushed off some more dust from his hands and eyed the Hunter, who was disrobing. He almost thought that the other student intended to strip to his flesh, but thankfully he stayed with some of the uniform.

"A spar, you say?" He mused over the idea and then went over the possibilities. Certainly, he could teach the Hunter all sorts of useful things, and if it was true that Tiero intended to follow through on his word, becoming the most formidable combatant-Scholar would place him ever closer to getting the power he needed to destroy all of the Monsters. A lucrative deal, indeed.
"Very well, then. A spar you will have. Set the terms."

Doping [open:Hunter, scholar, maiden] Empty Re: Doping [open:Hunter, scholar, maiden]

Post  Tiero Sun Oct 03, 2010 5:45 am

Tiero curled his hands into a light fist, placing his fast left hand slight in front of the stronger right. He parted his legs lightly and placed his right leg behind the left. The scholar the graciously accepted his challenge almost with a greedy and ambitious look to his eyes. The eyes of those who stove to become that top and very often they would do anything to get what they want. Tiero lowered his head as he peered towards Akaryu.

'You're free to use anything to knock me off this roof'
Tiero took 3 fast steps forward as he matched the last footing with quick snapping jabs aiming for Akaryu's nose. Tiero bobbed his head once as a habitual counter measure avoiding any attack that was aimed at his head. Following his even lower stance Tiero thrusted his right fists aiming to hit the lower left ribs of Akaryu.

Tiero distantl wondered how much this scholar could withstand and keep up. Would his eyes follow Tiero's dashing movements or would his unaccustomed eyes cause him to take the hits? Tiero followed the right hook with a left punch to the chin. This style currently used by Tiero would be very similiar to the modern kick boxing, a series of ferocious hits aiming at vital points. Such a vital point would be the stomach and such a spot Tiero attacked. By gripping the Scholars left shoulder with his right hand Tiero pulled Akaryu towards him launching a right knee into his guts.

Was there really this much need of pressure? Tiero took a step back as he gave Akaryu a split seconds worth of precious time and Tiero himself to clear himself of any dangers on his own body and enter a new array of strikes. Tiero bobbed and waned once each as he kneeled on his right leg gaurding his left side with a bent arm and hand clamped behind his head. With his right hand Tiero pulled another hook aiming for Akaryu's left knee.

Yes there was a need for all this pressure. Scholars had already become accustomed to sitting around reading books and carrying out researches their bodies were simply not trained for fighting and an easy going spar wouldn't break the habit. The pressure and fear of possible decapitation on a building several meters high would awaken the human instinct to fight and survive.
