C O N Q U I S T A
Charada Moinitode - Completed Guy124

Name| Charada Moinitode
Height| 5'7"
Weight| 105 lbs
Age| Looks about 17, but is probably at least 50
Gender| Male

Powers and Abilities
Lets make a contract...

Race| Conquista
Abilities|
Weapon| Charada possesses the ability to transform his lower right arm into a sword. It doesn't so much resemble a sword as it does a huge chef's cooking knife, the way it is shaped. The transformation stops at his elbow, allowing him to still bend his arm naturally. The blade is silver, like a real knife, and his upper right arm turns black, much like a handle to a knife. The black material stops at his shoulder, stretching a little into his torso, looking like it was attached there.

Monster Form| Charada's Conquista Form, like everyone else's, resembles a giant Centipede. His form has a brownish color to the exoskeleton, further strengthening the similarities between his form and bugs. Innumerable apendages that are supposed to be his legs extend from the bottom of him body, running the length of his form. His face is plastered on the front of the body, through something his species calls a "face hole", which looks like his entire head, save for his face, has been swollowed by the form, which may not be far from the truth.

Enhanced Weapon| As Charada's normal weapon is transmuting his arm into a giant sword, it wouldn't work very well in his Monster form, seeing as he has numerous, smaller "arms". However, he makes it work. The only true difference between his original weapon and Centipede weapon is that in his Centipede form, his weapon encompasses his entire arm. Seeing as his form is bigger, the weapon is essentially bigger as well.

Appearance
Mirror mirror on the wall...

Eye colour| Brown
Hair style| Brown. Its more or less just a bush on his head.
Clothing| Charada wears the standard Yoroi uniform, which is a rather unusual piece of clothing. The main piece is the jacket, which is completely white. The jacket is actually something of a hybrid of a normal lightweight jacket and a dress jacket. The lapel of the jacket isn't collar-looking, rather is it actually flat and runs down the entirety of the jacket, and is also where the buttons are located. It is completely black on each side, with golden strings of fabric weaving their way periodically across the black stripe, giving it the appearance of something naval in origin combined with piano keys. Beyond that the jacket is totally white, the only other disturbance of this uniformity being the cuffs. Unlike the lapel, the cuffs are actually reminiscent of an actualy suit jacket. They, like the lapel, are black, with golden cufflinks to complete the similarity. He wears a pair of standard black pants, to complete the uniform. Like the other Yoroi students, he wears his jacket unbuttoned, revealing his striped black-and-white undershirt, which looks like something prisoners wear.
Spoiler:

Overall appearance| Charada, as hinted by his height and weight, is rather frail in appearance. He isn't anorexic skinny, but a hungry wolf would definately think twice about eating him if it was looking for some meat. Muscle on his body is almost nonexistent, the little he has due to his training in Yoroi. While he still has rather amazing strength, credited solely to his status as a Psuedo-monster, his form isn't something very intimidating to look at.

His main feature, by far, is his face. Not because it is handsome or beautiful, but because he has one of the rare Conquista deformities that appears on his face. He covers his up with a cap and eyepatch, but the heavy coating just gives it away that he's trying to hide something. The sclera of his right eye is a light, lime green color, and the eye is reptilianne-looking, reminiscent of his bug-like monster form. However, on top of that, just to the right of his eye, he has three short apendages that look strikingly similar to the legs on bugs. The connection is further strengthened by the fact that they move and twitch like real bug legs, which creeps most people out. Hence the eyepatch, shich covers both the apendages and the eye, and the cap, which is worn with the bill dropping down over his right eye. The hat itself is white, with the black insignia of Yoroi on the front.

Personality
What is life?...

Likes|

  • Fighting. "Keeping yourself on edge, the everchanging tide of battle.. its a thrill!"
  • Dreaming. "That unique little world inside your mind that only you can see."
  • Lolipops. "This sweet stick the humans create... its like eating joy!"

Dislikes|

  • Fighting. "War, violence... all hate can bring is more hate. Why do you humans like hate?"
  • Waiting. "Something you just can't live without... its suffering to be kept apart."
  • Reapers. "Traitors... they disgrace the name of Lord Susanoo, and Lord Izanagi..."

Goals|

  • To eliminate all Monsters. "I've seen what those things do, where they come from. Their very existence is hurting this world, and I hate seeing people hurt..."
  • Not to die. "Death... its a terrible thing. It doesn't hurt you, it hurts something worse... your friends."

Fears|

  • Dying. "The pain it causes everyone... the uncertainty of what lies beyond... its terrifying"
  • Losing his friends. "To think your life means more is to have a worthless life. To put them first... that is the law I live by."

Personality| Charada is what you'd call a moral man. Above all else, he puts his friends first. He lives by the philosophy that if you think your life is more important than someone else's, then its value is diminished. He views the lives of everyone else as more important than his own, as he knows he wouldn't be able to live with the guilt of letting them die, knowing he didn't try everything in his power to save them. In fact, the very thought of one of his friends dying brings him to tears.

Speaking of dying, Charada has a deep-rooted fear of death. He fears what is on the other side, if anything, and isnt anxious to find out. He knows the pain that death inflicts on those around the desceased, and inflicting that pain on his friends is the very last thing he hopes to accomplish. While this is in stark contrast to his resolve to give himself up in place of his friends, Charada simply dismisses the contradiction as easily solvable: All he has to do is become powerful enough to protect his friends and not die.

His views on fighting are just as weird. He enjoys, even looks forward to, friendly spars and fighting as competition, but he almost despises actual combat. He views it as barbaric, leading only to death, something else he despises. While in spars risk of injury is minimum, and both combatants actually have fun, actual combat is just the opposite. Even so, he is eager to jump into a fight if it means protecting his friends, yet another example of one of his morals trumping another. Still, even if he's protecting a friend, he refuses to kill his opponents, knowing that there is at least one person or thing that would be hurt by their death, and that one thing doesn't deserve the pain.

History
Long ago, in a distant land...

Family| None. the Conquista are his family
History| Charada was born a Conquista, as one must be in order to be part of thr race. He was brought into the world around the time of the Uke Machi Rebellion, during which both his parents were killed in combat. This is the first instance that death touched him, effecting him rather horribly, implanting the pain of death deep into his soul. However, as he was too young to remember the experience, he didn't know the true pain of losing someone precious.

Soon afterwards, Tsukuyomi took him under his wing, along with numerous other orphans who lost their parents to the war. Growing up in this environment, Charada saw the true pain of what war brought, apparent in the expressions and actions of those old enough to remember their parents. While Charada was devastated to have never even known his mother and father, the pain of losing them would have probably been even worse. Growing up with this attitude contributed to his hatred of war and fighting, and is what inspired his strong philosophies about friendship.

Among the groups of orphans he grew up with, he made close friends with one in particular: Sumihori Chigorichi. Being one of the few old enough to remember her parents, Sumihori was almost constantly depressed. While she and Charada grew close, even he couldn't suffice for the void that her parents left. Eventually, just before one of the turning points of Canamera history, Charada made his way to Sumihori's quarters in the main Yoroi Academy Fortress, where they had been staying as students of the school. Sensing something was wrong from the start, Charada encountered a locked door when he came upon her room. The feeling growing even worse, as he sliced the door in, he almost barfed on her floor when he saw Sumihori's body dangling from the self-made noose.

Devastated by her suicide, Charada felt for the first time the true extent of the pain death caused. The calm lake that was his life was sent into frantic waves as death dropped a boulder right at its center, disrupting everything. News of the incident soon spread throughout the school, and Lord Tsukuyomi held a full funeral for her. Creaming the casket and the body, as was Conquista custom, Charada watched with sad eyes as the smoke rose to the heavens, the last remnants of his closest friend leaving the planet forever.

Afterwards, Tsukuyomi approached Charada, who was standing alone, ironically in the rain. Although Charada had heard tales of the Headmaster and his great power, he had never actually had a personal interraction with him. Even though everyone had said that he was somewhat obnoxious, bordering on sociopathic, a small part of Charada was anxious to see what he was truly like. Even so, right after Sumihori's funeral wasn't exactly the place he had imagined the interraction taking place. But beggars couldn't be choosers, and Charada had a lot going on in both his mind and his heart that he really needed help sorting out, and since they were concerning the one person he could confide them in, who had died...

"I love the rain." Were the first words out of Tsukuyomi's mouth. Saying something so casual, so unrelated to how Charada was obviously feeling, and something that sounded slightly positive was, in Charada's eyes, the worst possible thing Tsukuyomi could have said. "Its dark and gloomy, almost like it understands the sadness of the world. And then it cries with you, washing away your tears with its own. Rain is truly amazing, isnt it?"

Those words knocked any rebuttle out of Charada's mouth. To begin something like that with such an arrogant, apathetic comment and then to carry it into such a speech. Even if it was one sentence, it carried more weight with it than anything Charada had heard in his lifetime. All he could do was break down and cry, cry with the rain, cry with his country, and cry with the world. He cried for them all, and he cried for Sumihori. "Why.." He began, his words piercing his sobs. "Why does it have to be like this? Why do people have to die like this? Why can't the world be right?"

"Somewhere, it is." Was Tsukuyomi's reply, and that was all. He simply turned around and walked away, leaving Charada crying in the rain. After that, the Headmaster never spoke to the young Conquista again, and Charada doubted he even remembered his face. Even so, those three words weighed more than the world. Those three words explained it all: Equilibrium. His life sucked at the moment, but somewhere, for someone, life was good. He suffered for the sake of someone else's happiness. Those three words enlightened him: He lived to help his friends. He had failed to help Sumihori, to save her, but he would have to continue on, in her memory. Perhaps it was the sadness speaking this, or the desparation, but it was a philosophy that Charada carried with him for the rest of his life.

Soon afterwards, Tsukuyomi declared all-out war on Uke Machi, meeting her in one-on-one combat, the students of Yoroi left to take care of her army. While he didn't know how the battle between the two leaders went, Tsukuyomi was the only one who came back, which was enough for Canamera. Yoroi had won, and the members of the Uke Machi Army were taken as prisoners of war, imprisoned in a special dungeon Tsukuyomi had constructed, below the main fortress of Yoroi Academy. Peace restored, Charada began to try and settle down and become stronger, knowing some day that his friends would need him, and in the memory of Sumihori, he would never let what happened to her happen again...
